What is wrong with mafia 2?

in chapter 14 when u have to give the money back to bruno, i completed the game with no problems but now im completing it on hard difficulty but everytime i reach bruno's door nuthing happens. i got all the money so its nuthing to do with that. i also restarded the chapter which was a pain in the *** because for me its quite hard. and still won't work.
